Cowboy Hats And Reality
When you say “Cowboy Hats”, I suspect that most everyone gets the same picture in their mind’s eye. The capacity of the hat seen may not be a full ten gallons, but I would imagine that it would have a wide brim all the way around and a higher than normal crown with some sort of crease.
The reality of what you would see might be considerably different if you were to venture out to where the work of cowboys was being done, particularly in the cold months of the year. The picture you got when you read “Cowboy Hats” probably didn’t include ear-flaps. It’s down around zero degrees fahrenheit outside right now, and if I’m headed out after some strays, my headgear will certainly include something to cover my ears.
